Swindon Town want to keep prolific striker from Bradford City

Eoin Doyle has made a blistering start to life on loan at Swindon Town from fellow League Two side Bradford City.

The 31-year-old has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for Richie Wellens’ side.

The Robins are desperate to keep hold of his services for the season at least amid murmurs of a return to Valley Parade in January, but ideally they want to sign him on a permanent deal according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Doyle, who is from Dublin, won’t come cheap though and the County Ground side will have to fork out a cash sum to sign him.

The experienced front man is an established goal scorer in the Football League and has helped Swindon rise up to 3rd in the fourth tier in this campaign.

Doyle moved to England in 2013 to join Chesterfield after spells in his early career at Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers and Hibernian.

He earned a move to the Championship with Cardiff City after 38 goals in 84 games for the Spirerites. However, he struggled to make an impact in Wales and left for Preston North End a year-and-a-half later.

Seven goals in 44 games followed for the Irishman in Lancashire before he went on to have loan spells in the lower leagues at Portsmouth and Oldham Athletic.

He signed for Bradford in August 2018 and spent last year with them before they loaned him to Swindon at the start of this season. Will he be on his way to the Wiltshire club permanently in the near future?
