Birmingham City winger “would be open to” permanent Portsmouth transfer

Birmingham City winger Viv Solomon-Otabor has said that he would be open to a permanent move to loan club Portsmouth at the end of the season.

Portsmouth’s loaned in winger Viv Solomon-Otabor has said that he is interested in making his loan spell at Fratton Park permanent at the end of the season.

Solomon-Otabor’s contract with Birmingham City is expiring at the end of the 2018/19 season, and with him being set to become a free agent, he has told Portsmouth News that he would be open to the possibility of making a permanent move to Fratton Park.

“From now until the end of the season, I just want to play games,” Solomon-Otabor said.

“When the time is right, everything will be discussed.

“I really enjoy it down here. Everyone is nice, the lads are good, I’m comfortable and it’s allowed me to play the way I have played. I’ve just got see what happens towards the end of the season.

“It’s a massive club, we get a lot of fans, week-in, week out. I would be open to it (a permanent move). But for now, it’s about getting my head down and being as strong as possible.”

The winger went on to add that he has not spoken to Birmingham boss Garry Monk since his January loan move and discussions are yet to be held regarding his future.

“I’ve only spoken to some of the academy staff. I haven’t really spoken to anyone so far. Now it’s about getting my head down and doing my job here until the end of the season.”
